How to become a TravelMate (Tm) Magazine Author

TravelMate (TM) Magazine’s primary goal is to deliver quality material for world wide travellers.

Writing takes time; a close examination of different articles takes time; and finally preparing the article for our readers takes time. To provide our readers with even more good stories and useful insights we can use your help.
tasks

Who can become a TravelMate author?

You. However, you need to have experience as a good blogger or an author. If it’s the case please follow the following guidelines:
  • send us an e-mail (s. below) with a brief description of yourself, your skills and your field of interests,
  • include URLs to some articles and examples in your e-mail (don’t send whole articles, just URLs if possible),
  • include some suggestions for topics and articles you’d be glad to explore and write about. Check your sites sections and categories.

It’s very important for us that you are really interested in the topics you’re willing to write about. A single article is excellent, long-term cooperation is even better.

An article doesn’t have to be extremely long; what is important is that you have something to say or to share for other travellers. E.g. you can discuss interesting travel stories or experiences.

You can share your experiences with other travellers and review some travel services you have experienced during your travels.

We are aiming at exciting, creative articles that also cover recent news in the travel industry. We also can use some help in creating e-mail lists and compilations of information related to a given topic. We’ll provide you with detailed guidelines, so you know exactly what we expect and what we are interested in. How might such an article look like?

Our topics

Our main interest is mainly to share travel tips and travel stories for world wide travellers. What are concrete topics we write about? The list of topics/tags could be set up and offers an overview of the topics covered in our web site magazine. However, we prefer the following topics to follow our structure in the web site:
  • Travel stories – experience, different cultures, people
  • Useful travel equipment for different travelling, life-savers etc.,
  • Places to visit, things to see
  • Destinations, countries, cities and great locations, new places to visit, things to see
  • Back packers, business travellers, leasure travelling, family travelling, senior travelling, gay travellling, adventure travelling,
  • By plane, by bus, by rail way, by foot, by bycycle, by motor cycle, by sailing etc.

What do we expect?

Each article published on TravelMate (TM) Magazine needs to meet our quality guidelines which is why not every guest article can be published; however, we strongly believe that there are dozens of travellers (private or business), bloggers or just travel enthusiasts out there who have something to say and something to share or would like to help us out in our daily research for good travel stories.
So what do we expect from our guest writers? Not much:
  • you like to explore travelling trends and present examples of new services where these trends are used (showcases) or
  • you have fresh ideas you would like to present (what to think about.., what to avoid..., ) or
  • you know excellent sources for high-quality travel services (e.g. best hotels, air flight services, shopping tips etc.) or shopping tips (shopping streets, shopping streets, shopping goods etc.) and would like to support us during our research (new tours, new b&b, new destination not discovered yet, ).
Or…
  • you want to release high-quality travel offers also with special TravelMate.com offers — tour discounts, hotel discounts, air flights discounts etc. and gain broad coverage on TravelMate Magazine (giveaways, coupons ) or
  • you want to present your travel service in a business proposal directory.
If you think you fit to at least one of this criteria contact us — we want you, we need you, we can’t live without you and we would really be happy to have you in our TravelMate (TM) author team.

Are TM authors getting paid?

Of course! The amount of money depends how many people read your article and its quality of course.

We pay you by letting you set up a Google adsense account where you get paid directly from Google. Every time users click on your own google ads in your article you get paid 50% of the commission from that ad click. You also have ads to your own author profile with the same conditions. The settings you do your self in the back end of you own profile.

When the article goes live we make sure both sides agree upon the publishing & payment conditions. It is also possible to put a link to the author’s web-site if you dont write about commercial offerings that should be published in our listing Travel Services directories.

Sounds good?

Contact us. We are always glad to make new contacts and explore new possibilities. We’d be glad to have you in our TravelMate (TM) team!
